Commercial Litigation Associate | Seattle

Our client, a nationally recognized law firm with a premier litigation practice, is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys handling complex business disputes, working directly with clients, and taking on meaningful responsibility in high-stakes litigation matters. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced trial lawyers on sophisticated cases in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support all phases of commercial litigation from case inception through trial and resolution.
  • Conduct factual investigations, legal research, and case analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other substantive filings.
  • Conduct and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation.
  • Manage document discovery and e-discovery processes.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Collaborate with clients and litigation teams to develop strategic, business-oriented solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with appellate briefing and post-trial matters as needed.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support staff while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives.

Candidates should have 2+ years of litigation experience gained in a law firm, judicial clerkship, or similarly sophisticated legal environment. A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Washington, or the ability to obtain admission promptly, are required. Ideal candidates will have experience managing discovery, drafting and arguing motions, handling court appearances, and supporting complex litigation matters through all stages of the process. Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills are essential, along with excellent organizational abilities and a commitment to outstanding client service.

Compensation is expected to range from $225,000 to $330,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
